2007 Women's Post Season Honors

Jersey Knights Women enjoyed a successful fall soccer season. Congratulations to all players who were recognized for their performances on the soccer field. Leading this year’s group of honorees is Allison Janiga, Alana Carr and Kaitlyn CurranAllison Janiga, a senior sweeper from Woodbridge High School, earned 1st Team All Area honors from the Home News Tribune. This is the 3rd year in row Allison has earned All Area honors. She scored 3 goals and contributed 10 assists to the Woodbridge cause this season. This season she anchored a strong Barron defense that posted a 16-5 1 record. In addition, Allison earned All Middlesex County 1st team recognition by GMC coaches and the Star Ledger. Ally plays for the U18 Lady Lancers.

As a central midfielder, Alana Carr led Monroe High School to a stellar 17-4 record this season.  As a leader on the field she contributed 12 goals and 9 assists. She is recognized as a 1st Team All Area Player by the Home News Tribune. In addition, Alana earned All Middlesex County 1st Team and GMC Coaches 1st Team honors this season. She also named to the All State Group 3  Second Team. Alana plays for the U18 Lady Lancers.

Kaitlyn Curran, a striker for the North Brunswick Raiders, led Middlesex County in scoring for the second year in a row. She scored 29 goals and accumulated 13 assists for a total of 71 points. Over the course of her career Kaitlyn scored 93 goals for the Raiders. Kaitlyn earned All Area 1st Team recognition by the Home News Tribune, 1st Team All Middlesex County honors by the Star Ledger and the GMC Coaches. This is the third year in a row Kaitlyn has earned recognition. In addition, she earned All State Group 4 Third Team honors. Kaitlyn plays for the U19 Excalibur.

Suzie Miller of the U19 Excalibur and U18 Lady Lancers and Laura Robinson from the U18 Lady Lancers received recognition as goalkeepers. Sue, from South Brunswick High School, earned 2nd Team All Area recognition. This the 2nd year in row She has been recognized for her prowness in the goal. In additon, Sue earned All Middlesex County Recognition from the Star Ledger and GMC Coaches. Laura, from Edison High School, earned 3rd team All Area recognition. This Laura’s 2nd time earning All Area recognition. Laura’s fearless play in the nets earned also earned her recognition as a Red Division 1st Teamer by the GMC Coaches.

Kaitlyn Vargo of the U18 Lady Lancers and Union Catholic High School Captain earned 1st Team All Union County honors by the Star Ledger. Kate Earned NJ Coaches North Division All State Honors. In addition, Kate earned 1st Team All State honors in the Non Public School Division for her performance at Union Catholic. Earning honorable mention honors on the Home News Tribune All Area team this year are Katie Metrokotsas, Lauren Zastrow, and Bridget Natallicchio, all play for the U16 Gladiators and Bishop Ahr High School. Katie was also honored as a All Middlesex County 3rd Team player and to the 1st Team GMC Coaches Team. Audrey Gagnon and Kelly Myers both from the U17 Crusaders earned 2nd team All GMC Coaches honors as well as earning Honorable Mention recognition on the All Area Team. Kelly also earned all GMC White Division 1st Team honors. Audrey earned 1st Team GMC Gold Division honors. Kelly played her High School soccer for the Raiders of North Brunswick where scored 7 goals this season. Audrey competed as a sweeper for South Amboy High School. In Somerset County,  Dana Rokoszak from Hillsborough High School and the U18 Lady Lancers earned All Somerset County Recognition by the Star Ledger. Meaghan Kelly of the U16 Gladiators and Immaculata High School was honored by the Courier News as an All Area Player.
