The Jersey Knights Wizards is a highly competitive U16 Boys team dedicated to the excellence of soccer through commitment, focus, and hard work. We are comprised primarily of boys from the Central New Jersey area. The team participates in the MAPS league as well as plays in MAPS, MSSL, US Club Soccer and other tournaments throughout the East Coast.
Head Coach for the U16 Boys team is Pedro Lopes.
Coach Pedro Lopes has been with the Jersey Knights as a coach/trainer for the past 14 years. He has been a member of the Jersey Knights Board of Directors for 10 years. He currently serves as the Knight’s Director of Coaching. His responsibilities include overseeing all the men’s teams and programs and supervising the Knight’s large, professional staff of coaches.
Offering a strong and diverse soccer resume. He is the former head coach at NJIT (New Jersey Intstitue of Technology) and the former first assistant coach and head of recruiting for the Rutgers University Men’s Program. He was also a camp director at the Bob Reasso soccer Academy at Rutgers University.
Coach Pedro Lopes is a former four year letter winner at Rutgers who was named to the NCAA All-American Team two times. His professional experience includes the A League, and the USSIL. He is a former member of the United States U-20 National Team Pool. He is a graduate of Rutgers University. He played his high school ball at St Benedicts Prep in Newark where he earned All State Honors. Pedro has extensive youth experience with children of all ages at the club level. He a member of the Rutgers University Athletic Hall of Fame. Pedro holds national licenses from USSF and the NSCAA.
